This is a little corner of the internet for colourful, joyful and completely unique things. Inspired by nostalgia, fantasy, fandoms and the joy of making things with my own two hands, I create one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories for people who don't want their wardrobes to look like everyone else's.

It All Started With a Little Sparkle...

I've always loved making things. There's something about starting with an idea, a pile of fabric or ingredients, then eventually being able to hold something in your hands and proudly say, "I made that" ☺️

Just Add Castles grew from my love of creativity and my desire to see more colour and whimsy in the world. I wanted somewhere I could make things on my own terms and create the kind of pieces I wish there were more of.

I see so many amazing independent makers and colourful brands online, especially in the US, and I wanted to bring more of that sense of fun, individuality and why the hell not? closer to home.

The name itself came from my love of Disney and fantasy, but Just Add Castles was always meant to be bigger than one fandom. Castles belong in fairytales, fantasy worlds, magical adventures and countless stories we've grown up with. They're a little symbol of imagination and escapism, and they leave plenty of room for all the things I'm obsessed with 🏰

I Love Making Magic 🧵

I love the whole process of creating something from scratch. Hunting down funky fabrics is definitely part of the fun, especially when I find colourful, nostalgic or slightly ridiculous prints that you don't see everywhere else 🎃

I'm also passionate about giving pre-loved fabrics a new life. Old bedding, forgotten curtains and fabrics that might otherwise be overlooked can become something completely new. It's a chance to make something truly one-of-a-kind while keeping pieces more accessible and making use of what already exists ♻️

Then comes my favourite bit: working out how to cut the fabric to best show off the artwork and prints 🤩 Sewing that final seam. Turning the piece right side out for the first time. That little rush when I realise I've actually made the thing I imagined in my head.

And then, hopefully, it finds its person 🩷

I want the things I make to give you that feeling of "I'm so glad I treated myself to this." I want you to feel excited when you open your parcel, proud when you wear it and just a little bit more like yourself.

Because I don't think you should have to dress yourself down to fit in. Fashion should be fun. You should be allowed to wear the bright colours, pick the cute prints and buy the thing that makes you ridiculously happy.
